James Bond-linked Aston Martin V12 Vanquish up for sale
A Vanquish with significant provenance prior to its use promoting the Pierce Brosnan film Die Another Day, has been listed for sale with some unique 007-themed features.
An Aston Martin Vanquish used to promote the 2002 Pierce Brosnan Bond film Die Another Day, is up for sale in the UK.
According to the ad on AutoTrader, the 2001 V12 Vanquish was initially used by Aston Martin’s then chairman, Dr Ulrich Bez, and is almost identical to the car famously used in the film.
While this exact vehicle didn't see 'screen use', it's described as being used alongside Brosnan for promotional photoshoots and events as a member of the manufacturer’s press fleet.
As such, the Vanquish is described as being in clean condition with no accident damage, with only 53,700 miles (86,422km) on the clock despite being 23 years old.
It also comes with its original registration number, as well as novelty '007' plates.
Among a number of James Bond-themed special touches is the VIN – which ends, of course, in 007.
Replica weapons are also installed on the vehicle, including red-tipped missiles protruding from the front grille, while the bonnet houses retractable machine guns.
The ad doesn't mention the tinted tail-lights visible in the pictures, which were not a Q Branch modification, and seemingly compromise its authenticity.
The Vanquish, which houses Aston’s V12 engine capable of 373kW with a top speed of 305 km/h, is swathed in metallic skye silver paint, with a chestnut leather interior and matching Alcantara headliner.
Of course, with its rich history, the former Bond motor doesn’t come cheap – advertised for sale at £99,950 ($AU193,646).
