Australian Olympic gold medal winner has huge ambitions for his garage

Young skateboarding extraordinaire, Keegan Palmer, has set some big goals, but not all of them revolve around skateboarding.

Keegan Palmer, skateboard extraordinaire and self-confessed lover of German car giant, Porsche, has set himself some big goals outside of the skatepark.

It was recently reported that Keegan made a bet with his father to purchase a Porsche 911 GT3 RS if he won back-to-back gold medals. You can read our full story here. Because we loved this goal so much, we invited Keegan to the Drive offices so we could give him his dream car - albeit a smallish version.

Speaking with Drive, the youngster revealed his intention to house quite the collection of Porsches.

“My goal by 2025/2026 is to have four or five Porsches in my driveway … old and new ones,” said Keegan.

What’s more, another personal goal would be for he and his father to have a matching Porsches in the future – the ultimate compensation for the money he spent on Keegan’s skating career.

Keegan currently drives a Porsche Macan, which has served him well as the ultimate adventure companion on countless surf and ski trips.

In the next year or so, the Aussie skateboarder plans to keep the Macan as a daily, and use the GT3 RS as a weekend tourer.

His preferred specification isn’t overly loud or ostentatious, rather similar to that of his Macan – black on black with grey treatment on the outside, and carbon-fibre touches on the inside.

But, as a self-taught drifter and Formula One fan, the race-focused Weissach package was certainly not out of the question. The option brings extra goodies such as  a roll cage, carbon fibre seats, and exterior enhancements, to name a few. It also adds a staggering $76,540 to the price tag.

The recommended retail price for a Porsche 911 GT3 RS is $537,600 before on-road costs options and on road costs. Keegan's build (see below) includes $98,000 worth of options.

The 21-year old Australian's passion for cars stemmed from his friendship with Formula One driver, Lando Norris.

Keegan explained that spending time at race events, and being up close and personal has been "eye-opening," solidifying his love affair with fast cars.

Currently residing in San Diego, the talented Olympian is planning to move back to the Gold Coast, but has promised us a joy ride in his GT3 RS as soon as he's able to hunt one down. Stay tuned.
