2024 Chery Tiggo 4 Pro undercuts Mazda CX-3
The 2024 Chery Tiggo 4 Pro will take aim at light SUV stalwarts like the Mazda CX-3 and Nissan Juke with ultra-competitive pricing.
Chery Australia’s next model in its product expansion will be a Mazda CX-30 and Nissan Juke rival known as the Tiggo 4 Pro.
Although exact pricing is yet to be locked in, Chery is promising a “sub-$24,000” drive-away price, undercutting big-name rivals in the segment.
For reference, the Mazda CX-3 and Nissan Juke start at $26,950 before on-road costs and $28,890 respectively, while the Toyota Yaris Cross kicks off from $30,900 as it is offered exclusively with a hybrid powertrain.
However, that low starting price will be for the Tiggo 4 Pro Urban, with a more upmarket Ultimate grade also available at a higher price point.
Both versions are powered by the same 1.5-litre turbo-petrol engine, developing 108kW/210Nm, which makes it competitive in the light SUV field.
Overseas versions of the Tiggo 4 Pro, also known as the Tiggo 3x, measure 4200mm long, 1760mm wide, 1570mm tall, and have a 2555mm wheelbase, making its footprint slightly larger than a Yaris Cross, but smaller than the CX-3.
Chery Australia is also yet to confirm key specification details, but has announced a 10.25-inch infotainment touchscreen with wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto will be on offer.
Other features coming to the Tiggo 4 Pro include heated seats, seven airbags, and “an impressive array of driver assistance features”, but where which grade these items will be available in is still unknown.
The Tiggo 4 Pro will land in local showrooms from October 2024, and joins the Omoda 5 small SUV, Tiggo 7 Pro mid-size SUV, and Tiggo 8 Pro Max large SUV.
Full pricing and specification details will be revealed closer to the model’s launch.
